Dario Forte, CFI and investigator for the Italian Financial Police, Milano, Italy gave attendees a glimpse at some possible negative impacts to forensic investigation that may accompany new advances in technology. His talk on Onion Routing (initially developed at the Navel Research Laboratory) showed that although this new routing protocol may improve performance some of its feature actually make traceback activities difficult if not impossible. All the more reason why security and digital forensics must get integrated into design and development activities.
